The Veterinary Referral Service of NH was created due to the tremendous development of new information and diagnostic procedures within the veterinary field during the past decade. This has made it virtually impossible for any one veterinarian to be completely versed in every medical discipline.
Until recently, only human medical facilities or veterinary teaching hospitals provided many of the services offered by our hospital. Because of the referral nature of our specialty practice, we want to work closely with your family veterinarian.
Board Certified Specialists
As in human medicine, veterinary medicine has become highly specialized. While it's true that a general practitioner is licensed to perform medicine and surgery, it does not mean that he/she has acquired formal post-graduate training (residency) and practices the most current advanced procedures. You and your pet deserve access to an opinion from a veterinarian who has not only "experience", but also formal training (residency), and board certification in the appropriate specialty for your pet's condition.
